ThisWay Global Announces Plans for Research and AI Compute Center at Texas A&M-RELLIS Campus

Planned 73-MW AI and high-performance computing, innovation and workforce-development center is designed to combine evidence-based governance, research collaboration and responsible infrastructure development in Bryan, Texas

BRYAN, Texas, Oct. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ThisWay Global Inc. (“ThisWay Global” or “TWG”), a company focused on sovereign artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, today announced plans for the Research and AI Compute Center (“RACC”) at the Texas A&M-RELLIS campus in Bryan, Texas.

Following the September 30, 2026 closing of the court-approved acquisition of project assets through the bankruptcy process, TWG has begun remobilizing the previously stalled digital-infrastructure project. The project is planned as a phased development with 73 MW of capacity on a 25-acre site, subject to applicable approvals.

RACC is intended to make advanced AI and HPC capacity available to eligible research, public-sector and industry users. The project is intended to apply TWG’s Sovereign Blueprint™, an evidence-based framework designed to help organizations identify and document controls over data, models, computing resources and access.

RACC is planned around three connected objectives: sovereign AI computing capacity; research and innovation collaboration; and workforce-development opportunities. The project is intended to support eligible users with research, advanced analytics and other mission-critical AI and HPC workloads, subject to applicable contracting, procurement, security and access requirements.

“RACC is an opportunity to demonstrate how AI and high-performance computing digital infrastructure can be developed as an accountable, governed institutional capability, one that can support Texas research, innovation and workforce opportunity,” said Angela Hood, Founder and Executive Chairman of ThisWay Global. “We intend to advance this development in collaboration with A&M-RELLIS leadership, local stakeholders and qualified partners, with a focus on responsible infrastructure and meaningful community benefit in the Bryan-College Station region.”

Planning is guided by four priorities:

  • Governed AI and HPC infrastructure. RACC is intended to support an operating model in which policies, workload access, computing resources and supporting evidence can be administered and documented in accordance with applicable customer, contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Phased, scalable infrastructure. The development is planned to proceed in phases, with infrastructure and capacity deployed in accordance with final engineering, applicable approvals, utility arrangements, financing, procurement and customer requirements.
  • Responsible resource management. The current design contemplates closed-loop, direct-to-chip liquid cooling. Final cooling-system configuration and water requirements will be determined through engineering and applicable approvals. Planning will also address applicable noise, land-use, and environmental requirements.
  • Research, training and workforce development. TWG intends to explore research collaboration and workforce-development programming with educational, community and other qualified partners, subject to partner agreements, applicable institutional approvals and operational requirements.

TWG intends for RACC to bring together computing infrastructure, evidence-based sovereign AI governance, research collaboration and workforce-development opportunities in a model that can inform future governed AI and HPC developments in the United States and internationally.

TWG plans to deploy its Amalgamy.ai™ software to support workload orchestration, policy administration, data-access controls, metering and evidence management, with deployment scope determined by the project’s final operating model and customer requirements. The planned model is intended to accommodate appropriate hardware and software choices while maintaining evidence-based governance practices.

“The future of this development will be shaped by disciplined engineering, collaboration and compliance with the legal, regulatory, contractual and community requirements that apply to a project of this importance,” Hood added.
